January

Well, we are pretty much all settled in now.  After a somewhat busy December, with Brandon starting his new job, unpacking, a trip up to Michigan for Christmas and finishing off the year with Myles and I getting the flu, it was nice to be able to relax a bit and start getting to know the area.  We've joined the YMCA and that has given me some nice time to myself and also some good socializing for Myles.  Along with a few playdates with other moms/kids from my MOPS group and toddler time at the library, we're keeping just busy enough.

Here are a few pictures from the last month.

Note: I have realized my goal of weekly blog posts was a bit too lofty; monthly posts seem more realistic.

2012 Goals

Since it is the new year I thought I would share a few of my goals for this upcoming year.   I have more but these are the more concrete ones.

1)  Read 12 books.  This may not seem like very much to some people, but I am not a reader so this seemed reasonable.  First two that made the cut:  Eat that Frog! by Brian Tracy and Stong-Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson.  The second book should give you some insight into Myles' personality :)

2)  Try 52 new recipes.  I whipped up #2 the other day; Peanut Butter Snack Bars.  Very delicious and relatively good, nutritionally speaking.  You will probably be seeing pictures of the new recipes that get the passing grade.

3)  Try at least half of the fitness classes offered at the YMCA.

4)  Take pictures; learn more about photography and improve the quality of my pictures; purchase a higher quality camera.

5)  Get Quickbooks certified.

What are your goals for 2012?  Eat that Frog! is a a good quick book if you are looking for some goal setting advice and tips on overcoming procrastination.
